This month it's one of my favorites...Psalm 121... it's the one I memorized last year with a friend...so I got this right....umm no...as a friend would always tell me...we leak...at least I do...it might have something to do with age.... or maybe it's just me....at any rate I will be memorizing it again right along with my little grandchildren...practice makes perfect
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord who made the heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved, he who keeps you will not slumber;
Behold he who keeps Israel will neither slumber or sleep
The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night
The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life
The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forevermore Psalm 121

I think I just might memorize this passage right along with you and the kids. The photos you have included are just perfect with these words. Beautiful!
I would love it if you shared this post on my Think on These Things. The last one is here:

I love that your church does that. I think I might start something similar with my SS class. We're a bunch of women around the age of 50 so we're all kind of leaky, but I still think we could retain the Word.
Excellent. And I love that Psalm.
Currently I'm memorizing the book of James. It's for my current Beth Moore Bible study. It will probably take me months since I just about think I have it, and... it leaks.
Praise the LORD for his Word.
I think it's wonderful that your church memorizes Scripture from the youngest to the oldest....It's a practice we should never stop....
Thanks goodness He is our help in every situation....
Definitely one of my favorite Psalms. My leaky brain retains a bit of it. Just enough for to begin...
What a beautiful photo!
Blessings, Debbie
How wonderful that your church does this, Maryann! I love this Psalm, too. And your pictures are amazing.
I am enjoying memorizing scripture with my son again...I seem to never remember what I have memorized and it is such a delight..this Ps is always one I have enjoyed...His word is so beautiful
Oh I love this scripture. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
That is one of my favorites too. When my grandsons were born at 27 weeks and it was touch and go for so long, I would lift mine eyes unto the hills and pray and pray. I still hear and read those words and I am still so comforted by them. The thing I love about memorizing scripture is that once you have memorized it, it becomes a good friend. :)I think that is a good thing to do in church each month.
I've memorized this years ago. I should refresh my memory because I treasure this Psalm. Thank you for the encouragement!
Dear Maryann ~ What a blessing it is to hide God's Word in our hearts! I have been so neglectful of this...but, we have a plan to memorize Scripture together with our children. Thank you for the encouragement!
I was unable to comment on the more recent posts...so, I will do it here ~ Yippeee for being able to go on a road trip with your Sweetheart! What a blessing that you are allowed to tag along on a business trip. My sister lives far away too...it's a blessing to see her when I get the chance to.
And yes, we must enter into EACH day and EACH moment to really LIVE our lives for our Precious Saviour!!
Many Blessings to you!
Camille
