It turned out the weather couldn't have been better and the blossoms were still near their peak. One thing I did notice was that most of the blossoms were not as pink as I had remembered, don't know if that was weather related (cold winter) or if it was because the blossoms were almost done.
There are Cherry Blossoms throughout the Mall area but the biggest concentration is along the Tidal Basin where the Jefferson Memorial is, that's where these photos were taken.
Playing with the tint a bit to make them look a little pinker
Many of the branches hung over the side of the rails
The nice weather we had in DC didn't last long, we woke up back home to temps in the 30's this morning. (Thankfully I haven't put all my winter clothes away or planted any of my summer veggies yet)

Hi there, Your photos are beautiful, but I remember when a nephew worked at the Pentagon he always talked of the bright pink cherry blossoms.
I haven't been to D.C. but hope to.
Have a wonderful Easter.

I am flat out determined to go to DC during cherry blossom time before that daughter of mine tires of her DC adventure. The photos are just beautiful!

Oh my, that first picture is breathtaking! It looks like a beautiful trip filled with many lovely things to see :)
May you have a blessed Easter!
That first picture is fabulous ... I think it needs to be framed! I would like to visit DC some day ... preferably when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
I think it's wonderful that you were able to get away to such a pretty spot, Maryann. Those blossoms are amazing! I found it interesting that there is actually a website that gives an update on the blooms...wow! We have one flowering cherry tree and there truly is a peak time to view them...and, it really lasts only a few days. So happy for you that you were there when they were at their best. Hugs, Camille
