The first thing I did when I got home was to check my voice mail, much to my concern I had a message from my mom, I say concern, because I am the one who usually calls, mom generally doesn't call unless something is wrong, AND I had just talked to her on Saturday.
Mom joined us on our trip to Italy (we were stationed overseas at the time)
Day trip to DC, that's my oldest son in the stroller, and my sweet hubby
Florida with her grandsons (two of those little guys are my sons)
Another trip to Florida with our family
The point of this post....a bit of encouragement can go a long way, it can change someones day. My mom had no idea what was up with me that morning, but the call was right on time. I have been so focused on fighting my own little battles in recent weeks that encouraging others hasn't even been on my radar. It is now, the call from mom was a reminder to me of how necessary encouragement is from others... I can think of at least a half a dozen people that could use my encouragement today...and BONUS...when I start to encourage others and remind friends of God's truths, I get to hear those truths too!!
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7

Such a precious relationship. I couldn't help but applaud the way in which you honor your mother (and she you). It sure makes me miss my own mother.
I appreciate the sweet relationship between you and your mom. I had a wonderful one with my mother and miss her terribly. It's great how just a simple phone call can change a day, an attitude, an outlook. Hope you are feeling better from all the dental work and that the remainder of it goes well. Prices these days are outrageous.
Blessings~
:) so sweet!
Thanks for the reminder. I'm going to go encourage someone right now.
Hi there, what a wonderful encouragement from your mom! You are blessed to still have her living. I know you are probably so uplifting to her. Hugs, Noreen
What a precious Mother.
She sure is a stylish lady!
Thanks for the reminder of how a simple phone call can make a difference.
Your mom is a precious gift from the Lord and it was touching to read this, Maryann. You encourage each other and many others, too. My mom died just over a year ago, and I still want to call her to tell her something, or when the phone rings I think that it might be her. How beautiful this verse speaks of God's encouragement to us.
What a lovely post Maryann! I am sorry about the morning at the dentist, but, happy to read that Mom came to the rescue for the afternoon. Precious memories to cherish! I enjoyed the *old* photos of you and your family. :)
Blessings to you!
Camille
