Driving home, I remarked to my husband that I felt like I was a little out of place in the area, it was a different culture, (for lack of a better word) it was young, professional, physically active, electronically connected and busy. I enjoyed visiting...always do, but DC is not like home.
The title of this blog comes from one of my favorite hymns."It is Well With My Soul" When peace like a river attendeth my way When sorrows like sea billows roll, Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say It is well, it is well, with my soul

Not Our Home
Driving home, I remarked to my husband that I felt like I was a little out of place in the area, it was a different culture, (for lack of a better word) it was young, professional, physically active, electronically connected and busy. I enjoyed visiting...always do, but DC is not like home.

Amen to this! So true and something we really do need to dwell on and remember. We are only passing through. How different it makes our prospective huh? Hope you had a good day!
I wonder if the longer we are here on earth the more we start longing for home...our eternal home
what a fun weekend with your son...all of my sons have wanted to be in a band,
Yes my friend we are only passing through! Our new home will be glorious! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Hello Maryann, I also love the song It is Well With My Soul!!
Because all of this is just the learning curve for our real adventure (with Him).
And even you and I will make mention of our blogging days and did it bring Him glory?
I would love to keep in touch and become bloggy friends!
I can feel a sweet draw to His Spirit from your words.
I think it is wonderful that you still have your Momma with you!
May His peace and strength be our commom bond.
Blessings, Roxy
We need to constantly have these reminders. It puts EVERYTHING into perspective! Encouraging post. :)
Blessings, Debbie
It's easy to get entrenched with early things and forget that we do not belong here but I think God is always reminding us we are not at home here....
So glad you got to visit with your son and and hear him play. I know he made you proud.
I wanted to answer your question from my blog the other day...I use Photoshop and Lightroom 4 to process my pictures...Thanks for asking...
What good thoughts. I do think that sometimes when I think about how much I like it here and I am reminded there I go again getting too comfortable in a place that isn't home.
So nice to get to see your son in two concerts.
I bet it was nice. Have a nice weekend.
Truly a wonderful thought...this is not our HOME!! I like that photo of you and your son (I'm assuming that's who's in the picture). How fun that you were able to attend two of his concerts, Maryann. I'm sure it brought you much joy. What does he play?
Blessings to you!
Camille
Sweet photo of you and your son! Oh, so many times I am so thankful this is not my home ~ I'm just a passing through. Lovely photo and post to remind me once again :)
