A Glimpse of Things to Come?

One of my biggest challenges is my memory, I seem to forget the simplest things.
I am not particularly worried, I noticed a direct correlation to my forgetfulness after starting on Arimidex. Arimidex is a drug they use to prevent your body from making estrogen,  I take it to prevent breast cancer reoccurance, apparently estrogen helps you think more clearly, thus the problem!

It is frustrating at times I will admit, but I have found that the best way of approaching this is to relax, go along for the ride and don't take yourself too seriously

Some of the things that happened this week.

I spent a day looking for a book I always keep downstairs, I had forgotten my grand daughter had taken it upstairs to read. I looked for that book for an entire day.

We had been gone a couple of days and had a lot of mail to sort through, when it came time to pay the mortgage I could not remember where I had put it

We had left my SIL's ID card for my children in case anything came up while we were gone...in this case my husband joined in the fun...neither one of us could remember where the card was

Yesterday I decided to include my family and friends in the fun. My husband is getting ready to celebrate a milestone birthday. We decided we would have a party, menu was planned, date and time was picked and emails were sent.

I got my first indication that there might be a problem after a text from a friend about the birthday celebration...when exactly was it going to be?

You guessed it, I included everything in that email but the date and time. Give me much grace Lord!

Oh my goodness can I ever relate to this post! I was not given this drug as my breast cancer was not receptive to estrogen, BUT considering I had a complete hysterectomy and cannot take any replacements therapy I have VERY similar problems. Including LOTS of hot flashes. Some times are better than others as I guess I understand that if even if you have had a hysterectomy your body still produces some estrogen, thus your need for the drug. But honestly most of the time if I am producing any at all, I sure can't tell, haha. I look for my glasses that are ON my head. Forget where I parked my car, and couldn't think of my cell phone number yesterday to save my life....whew....the things we go through. Your right, better we don't take ourselves too seriously. Hope you have a good week-end! HUGS

My pre-menopausal state of mind can certainly relate. I'm constantly turning around in circles. Otherwise, I'm trying to enjoy the ride in an amusing sort of way. I will pray for you, my sweet friend!

Well at least you can blame your forgetfulness on a drug; I can only use age as my excuse.....I am finding that I have to keep lists of lists and then I forget where I put the lists...Oh well, God will get us through.....

Oh, gotta laugh at that one :)

I'm with Nancy--God will see us all through this aging process. I like to think, and pray, that as I age things will get better, not worse. All things all possible with God. Gotta keep that positive attitude.
Blessings!

Oh sending you a hug...I have those moments and I call them my menopausal mind going south!

Oh estrogen...both the good and bad sides of it...my daughter-in-law has toooooooooo much!

Glad you are seeing it with humor...a cheerful heart is good like medicine and the one who created it all will be there with you in the journey!!

Blessings and complete healing in Jesus Name

This made me laugh cuz it's a common occurrence at my house, too. Now I better understand why my 78 year old sister has sticky notes EVERYWHERE, even though I've decided not to do likewise. Mostly I just tell people that "I forgot to remember" :)

Ahhh, this all sounds familiar! I think I had the same trouble on Arimadex as well, however, I now can't remember if it was even Arimadex! Your right, all we can do is roll with it :)
Thanks for your msg. on my blog.

Sometimes we just got to laugh at things to keep from crying! I just keep saying...If God carries me to it He will carry me through it. No matter what it is! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Oh to have a reason for forgetfulness beyond the growing older thing. I used to look for things until I drove myself frantic. I don't anymore assuring myself that they will show up. So far so good.

Thank you for stopping by today. I think you've been by before and I've been negligent about returning the visit.
