November Gathering The Moments

Can it be November is over, and Thanksgiving is now behind us?

These photos give you a little window of what our month looked like. We spent a bit of time outside cleaning up flower beds, planting pansies and storing summer items.  I was sad to see the hammock put away for the winter, but thrilled that we found on small greenhouse on sale.  Husband had the challenge of assembling it.

The leaves have been beautiful and we made some excursions to get some photographs,. I am really thankful for these opportunities.

I had dreaded Thanksgiving because neither son was going to be home (remember I love a full house) but in the end it turned out to be very enjoyable (and relaxing) And it gave us an opportunity to better know some friends of ours. (and yes, I was well for Thanksgiving)

Even though it was just the two of us we took our family photo for the year this past weekend.

What my husband and I are beginning to see is, there are things we would not have been doing and opportunities we would have missed had all of our family been here. Still miss them but learning to find the blessings and the grace moments in this new season.

Wonderful photos! I love that last one of the two of you!

Savor every moment you have together.

Hope you will post a pic of your little greenhouse. How wonderful that you got it on sale.

Have wonderful Christmas holidays.

Love and hugs ~ FlowerLady

Fabulous photos! You know, it's no surprise that God is revealing new blessings and opportunities in times that we dread and work to avoid ... praying these new blessings will help sustain you during the times when you're especially missing your family.

I am always so encouraged when I read of your adjustment to having your family farther away. Encouraged, because you're showing such grace and allowing the Lord to lead you into new places.

I love the fun picture of you and your hubby! Oh, and I also love the Williamsburg-y arrangement with the pineapple. That makes me swoon. ;)

Thanks for joining the "gathering" again this month!

You take such lovely photos my friend. Yes, truly there are joys to be found in the midst of sorrow...I am sure you were a great blessing to your friends at Thanksgiving. May the Lord continue to give you His strength and grace and peace and comfort as you walk this journey. Hugs to you! Camille XO

Your photos are gorgeous! So happy you found special moments this Thanksgiving. Last Thanksgiving we had a very small group but this year everyone was able to be here. But not everyone will be here for Christmas so we treasure those moments when we see the kids.

Yes, sometimes we really do have look for those special moments when life isn't exactly as we would like it to be. And, generally when we look, we find. Bless you, I know how it is to miss family.

May this first week of December be filled with many blessings!

Oh you are doing it just right! Finding the precious moments even when your loved ones are not able to be home. Relaxing and peaceful are very good things! Your photos are wonderful. Makes me want to know more about your corner.

I love what you describe and the pictures to go with it because it sounds so peaceful. When we were young marrieds, my sisters and I would all spend Thanksgiving with our husbands' families. My mom and dad did it just as you describe, and she says it was actually very nice, even though she missed us.

Beautiful Pictures. How lovely the flowers and leaves all look in your area. I know what you mean about finding the beauty of the moments that you are in; it is important. We have had the same wrestling adjusting and adjusting again when our children all moved away. It was difficult, but you find that portion that the Lord gives you and we have had some beautiful seasons and times.
