Thankful Thursday

There are always things to be thankful for, take a moment to consider how the Lord has blessed you, even in the simple things that make your day a little more pleasant. This is what I am thankful for today.

  1. Warmer weather, we have had spring like temperatures and sun the last two days and it has really lifted my spirits
  2. Daffodils are popping up out of the ground in the yard
  3. The smell of chocolate permeating the house, I have snacks tonight and am baking brownies
  4. Boxed brownies that I found on special the last time I went to the store (I bought 4)
  5. A birthday celebration last weekend
  6. Youngest son was able to come home for a few days
  7. I have a Secret Sister praying for me for the next two months. Secret Sister is an annual event for our ladies group.
  8. My previously hard to manage blood pressure is responding well to the most current medication change with minimal side effects. Praying the results I get at home will be duplicated when I see my physician next month. We also now know what probably caused my pressure to go up in the first place
  9. A flock of squawking birds in my neighbors yard....sign of spring?
  10. Being able to listen to the bible on computer while I read it, there is just something about hearing the Word while I read it.
  11. The days are getting longer...another sure sign spring is close
How about you, do you have a day that's not going quite as planned, finding yourself a little blue or discouraged. Take a moment, do it now, think about the many things you have in your life to be thankful for...it will change your attitude, it does mine.

Happy Birthday to my sweet husband

I like your Thankful Thursday, Maryann and I agree that pausing to reflect on all we have to be grateful for can change us dramatically and quickly. Love the sweet family photo.

Oh your soo right. Whenever I am down or feeling defeated I do just this. It ALWAYS lifts my spirits and makes me feel better. There truly is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. My blood pressure can shoot all over the charts. Always has. Anxiety for me plays a huge role. Hate that about myself, but seem powerless to control it. Glad yours is all under control. I quit taking mine at home as it just seemed to be making things worse. I'd get a high reading, panic and run to the doc who then got a normal one...sigh. So I have just had to give that over to the Lord and do the best I can. They check me every couple of months. Enjoy your day!

Just reading about brownies and daffodils is a day brightener.

There are always plenty of things to be thankful for if we just stop to think about them. You had a fabulous list!

Maryann, I was encouraged just reading your list! I am just giddy over the few signs of Spring coming also! We are praying for snow or rain as we are still in a drought.
I am thankful for being able to go see my daughter soon and to visit all my sweet grandchildren down south! And I am thankful for a Husband that truly loves me!
Blessings Always! Roxy

Yippee that the blood pressure meds are giving you minimal side affects!! SO wonderful to read that. :) And...yippee for chocolate and warmer weather and spring flowers making their appearances. It will be a little while before that happens here. You are right, Maryann...counting our blessings is a very good thing. Hugs to you! Camille

Love your list and imagine it would do us all good to make a list and let it serve as a reminder. We often forget just how blessed we are.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
